About My Work

My artwork pays homage to the energy of urban environments and the beauty hiding in the mundane. I try to capture the spirit of the city, where structure and chaos converge to form the dynamic tapestry of everyday life. It’s in this overlap of order and disorder that I often find inspiration.

My background in graphic design informs my appreciation for the precision of classic design – balance, symmetry, proportion. These elements form the backbone of my work, creating a framework for layering more spontaneous, expressive details. This interplay between control and spontaneity mirrors the complexity of our contemporary environments, where the planned and the accidental collide to create unexpected, serendipitous moments.

Typography as a Tone of Voice

Type is more than just a means of communication in my art; it’s a visual element that conveys rhythm, movement, and emotion, evoking a sense of place and time. Whether it’s the bold, impactful letters of vintage advertising or the nuanced details of classic letterforms, typography in my work serves as a bridge between past and present.

Incorporating the Mundane

Found elements—often mundane and easily overlooked on their own—are a vital component of my work. Fragments of posters, discarded notes, and pieces of old signage carry the residue of stories and histories. These elements add texture and depth to my compositions, reminding us that beauty and meaning can emerge from unexpected sources.
